Did you know Your Norfolk Wedding is an Associate Member of the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners! So what does this mean???
The Alliance was established in 2004 by two experienced Wedding Planners who discovered there was no official, professional body overseeing the organisation of Wedding Planners in the UK. The UKAWP was the first membership organisation for Planners in the UK. Many other professions have bodies to belong to that offer accreditation to their members skills and expertise but Wedding Planners had not previously had any opportunity to belong to such a professional body.
The UKAWP promotes continuous development of your skills as a Wedding Planning, offering a wide variety of training courses. In addition to this the UKAWP offers the brides employing the services of one of their members the knowledge that they are hiring the services of a professional who has met certain standards and who operates their industry standard Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is as follows:
Respond to client enquiries within 48 hours
Respect client confidentiality
Disclose all suppliers that they have a vested interest in
Always pass discounts and/or commission onto the client
Have Public Liability insurance
Never give client details to a third party unless for the sole purpose of the wedding
Respect copyright of all planners, coordinators and related suppliers
Represent each client fairly and honestly
Use legally sound business contracts with clients
The UKAWP website has lots of advice for brides who are considering hiring the services of a Wedding Planner http://www.ukawp.com/for-the-bride.php
I am also very proud to be the first Wedding Planner who is in Norfolk to be accepted to the UKAWP.
